Yuk.

"You Are Here"

We're definitely having one of those days where we wish we could buy a different house.  The red dot on the "air quality index" map?  Yeah, that's us.  Good ol' Lewiston valley.  Worst air quality in the nation right now.  I think we're going to Moscow for dinner tonight.  It's still nasty even up there, but at least it's a third lower on their rating scale.  We've got two air cleaners running in the house, and the A/C blower running full time to draw air through the filter.

Regardless, even the cats look droopy.

Back in the Saddle Again

1971 Buick Riviera, 455 V8, TH400 Auto

Of the sixty-some-odd cars I've owned, this one was the first, bought twenty one years ago.  It will always be my favorite.  Strangely, this car almost seems like a reflection of my life.  When times are tough, she sits in the driveway, deteriorating.  When times are good, we're on the road together, happy as a clam.  After watching her rot in front of my house for the last eight years, I've spent the last two weeks putting her back together.  She's looking rough, with the clear coat burned away in huge patches and a shabby demeanor inside and out, but I couldn't be happier.  The original bench seat has made way for a correct pair of factory buckets and matching original-equipment console-mounted shifter.  Steering and brakes are back to working as they should.  The big 455 is showing its age, but is now in decent tune, quick and smooth.  I've missed hearing its bark through the dual glasspacks.  It's good to be back.

Elven Ranger Faune and Elly (8-9-15)

"Faune & Elly," Ink & Marker on 8 1/2" x 11" Bristol
Ebay Item # 281769859561

This one has been in the works for quite a while.  To recap, when we first encountered Elly, she was certainly antagonistic, having captured our dear elven ranger for the amusement of some unseen villain.  In her second appearance, we saw her having a change of heart and smuggling Faune out of a dungeon.  In the third piece to feature both of these characters, it was Elly who was in trouble, and Faune was attempting to return the favor and rescue her from the Spider Queen.  I'd planned many months ago to draw a fourth piece that would depict both ladies finally taking a break and getting to know each other better, and here it is.
