Tina & Anya in Color! (11-14-14) SOLD

"Tina & Anya," Ink & Marker on 8 1/2" x 11" Bristol, $100

Poor Anya just can't get a break, can she?  But that's okay, she doesn't want one.

  1. Love the way Anya fits into/onto the cool retro chair, as if she were made to be an accessory for it, something Tina has apparently discovered works well. It's good too to see her so well focused on the task at hand, something that is enhanced by the strong, somewhat axial lighting built into the composition, almost as if they are on a stage...which I guess in some regards they are.

Nice move too keeping the back of the chair dark along with the background, allowing maximum contrast to show off the figures, reinforced by the nice contrasting complementary color scheme. Overall a well composed, visually flowing piece in line with the action, with the figures and the lines of the chair complementing and balancing each other cleanly.

Oh, and by the way, isn't this how Anya prefers taking her breaks?
