Kelli Delivers (11-13-14) SOLD

"Kelli," Ink & Marker on 8 1/2" x 11" Bristol, $45

Years ago I thought that this would be Kelli's outfit while she's working her second job, but only just now realized that I'd never put it down on paper.  So here she is!

Meanwhile, don't forget to check the eBay link on the right for more goodies, and Tobie's just finished a big update in the Studio site above.

  1. Ready to accept "tips", too, I see...;)

  2. Masterful positioning of the light and dark values in an almost checkerboard-like pattern throughout. The rendering of Kelli's ride is nothing short of beautiful too...very slick, as is Kelli herself, by the way! Doesn't get much more meatier than this, on all fronts (or rears)...arghh.

I guess you could say that innuendo-wise, this piece is truly golden...

    1. Thanks! I've been trying to focus a little more on watching where I put the values, and not just on where I put the shapes. I never seem to find enough time to get any studying done, but lately I've been able to put a few hours in, with a focus on trying to learn from some of the great classic illustrators. Maybe a tiny bit of it is starting to sink in. As for the innuendo, I'd say you should be ashamed of yourself, but I guess I started it, eh? Might as well keep 'em rolling!

    2. I'd say what studying you have been able to get in is making itself seen, especially within the shape/value relationships here and in the Tina/Anya color piece (please see comments there). And concerning the innuendo, I guess we all should be at least a little ashamed, but with a piece so wonderfully ripe for it, it would be rude not to dig in, right? Might as well keep 'em rolling, indeed!

  3. Officer, I know I was speeding but surely we can "cum" to some sort of understanding.

    1. See, we didn't know before that Kelli had such talent for negotiation, eh?
