Paddled Maisey in Color (9-6-14) SOLD

"Maisey," Ink & Marker on 8 1/2" x 11" Bristol, $60

Wow, where have I been?  Well, we finally finished the big screen printing job, then took a couple more days to make improvements on our equipment and technique based on what we've learned.  But it's back to art for a while, with the exception of a few days next week as Tobie will be going in for surgery.  But we'll still get a few things done here and there, and then it'll be back to business once she's back home.

  1. Nice foreshortening on Maisey's right calf and arm. Her right leg really appears to come forward and the way her right arm is handled makes her shoulder area come forward, allowing her wrists to fall back and up into space most effectively. It also creates good tension with her head peering around from behind her arm as she struggles to look around behind her in quite the agile manner...nicely composed all the way around.

Congratulations on getting the big print job done, too! Must feel good. Good luck too with Tobie's surgery...hope it is not anything too terribly involved and all goes well as it should!

    1. Thanks, glad you liked it! Feels great to be back to drawing again, like I should be. Hopefully we'll just have a couple days of disruption while Tobie's in the hospital, then back to business for good. She's going in for a hysterectomy, so I guess we don't have to worry about ever needing to turn my studio back into another bedroom. Ah well, it is what it is.
