Kelli Suspended (5-20-14) SOLD

"Kelli," Ink & Marker on 8 1/2" x 11" Bristol, $35

I actually see Kelli as being Latin rather than Asian, but she still looks good in a Mandarin dress, in my opinion.  I started this one out with the intention of giving Kelli's dress an intricate pattern, but decided I liked how it looks this way- clean and sleek.

  1. A woman doesn't need to be Asian to look good in a cheongsam, she just needs the right assets. Kelli has those in abundance.

    1. I couldn't agree more! A long time ago someone asked me if Kelli was intended to be Asian, and at the time I didn't really have any specific background in mind for her. Since then I've taken to thinking one of her parents was from Mexico. All that irrelevant pondering aside, I'm pretty sure Kelli needs to wear this dress more often.

  2. I think the choice of dress works very well! I really dig how you indicate her underlying form in the way you shaded it…she comes across as nude, more or less, from her ribcage down, very slick! I also like the very formal nature of the pose; the look on her face is actually kind of haughty in a commanding sort of way, as if she is posing for an official photograph of sorts, knowing how good she looks but daring the viewer or photographer to stare, as it were. She implies through her gaze and body language (her relaxed hands are perfect too in this context) that even though she is quite on display, she is unfazed...even with that possibly distracting vibrator, all of which lends the piece an overall shibari feel. In a word, as well bound as she is, she still rises above!

    1. Well hey, it's not often that she gets away from work long enough to dress up for the evening!
