Kelli Takes a Ride (4-13-14) SOLD

"Kelli," Ink & Marker on 8 1/2" x 11" Bristol, $44.95

Sorry for the long wait!  As you may have guessed, we've hit a few new obstacles in getting things rolling around here, but we're getting past them one at a time.

Meanwhile, though my Mustang may be down for the count, Kelli's is still running just fine!

  1. Lovely alternate take on the pony girl theme...

Beautiful use of extremely strong contrast to create a solid 3-D look, as well as the feel of a bright sunny day. The dark shadows also frame Kelli and her ride very well. Love the way she is turned, as if she is just noticing she is being scoped out by sundry passersby...tough to miss on such a bright day! Nice to see her with her hair down too; not only does it look great, but I imagine it provides some protection from what is undoubtedly some very hot metal.

Can't decide which I like better, the fine detail in her car, or the finer points of her figure...good thing I don't have to!

    1. I'm glad it reads as a bright sunny day, as that's what I was really going for. Didn't think about the metal sitting in the sun, though... oops. Maybe she just rolled it out of the shop, I hope? I was also looking to make symmetrical black and white triangular shapes at the top and bottom of the page, and I'm pretty happy with how that worked out.
