Mona After Hours (4-23-14) SOLD

"Mona," Ink & Marker on 8 1/2" x 11" Bristol, $44.95

So I was looking at some junk mail that was on its way to the trash, and noticed an advertisement for a "cowl neck sweaterdress."  I've been wanting to start making improvements to the girls' wardrobes, so I thought that Mona should have one of those.

  1. That is one sweatery sweaterdress, that's for sure!

  2. Whoops! Guess she should have locked that door.

  3. I doubt a locked door would have done any good here...indeed, perhaps the opposite! My question is, though, does the sweater dress come with a fine rope belt, or did someone do some custom accessorizing there? And the go-go boots...well, say no more!

Really like how you are creating full environments for the dames...not only does it open up the space around the figure and action, it simply adds so much to the overall feel and narrative quality of each piece, in a sense completing each scenario in a very strong way. The lighting in this one especially really creates that "after hours" look, which I think is an essential component to the success and appeal of the drawing. Beautiful!
